VION Food Group operates on a world market and endeavours to take a leading positions in the markest in which it is active. Entrepreneurship, market orientation and efficiency are essential to success and a further prerequisite is social responsibility. Profitability is vital to be able to fulfil all responsibilities and to safeguard the continuity of the business. VION has a long-term vision, a strategy and corporate objectives that enable broader social objectives to be incorporated in its decision-making. VION is focused on the requirements of the international community. This includes products, product processes and social aspects such as the care of people, animals, surroundings and environment.
VION's strategy rests on three key pillars: product leadership, operational excellence and sustainability.
Product leadership forms an inseparable element of the strategy. Consumer preference is directed increasingly toward products that combine convenience, enjoyment and health. Based on the nature of the markets the opportunities for organic growth are greatest for VION Convenience and limited for VION Fresh Meat and VION Ingredients. It is for this reason that, in addition to autonomous growth, VION is openly seeking controlled growth through acquisitions. For VION, acquisitions are required to meet stringent financial criteria, they must emphatically strengthen positions of leadership in the segment concerned, and finally they must have clear synergy with existing operations.
