VION takes step in control of Food activities

As of 1 July 2009, VION will change the control of its Food activities in the Netherlands with Executive Board member Peter Beckers assuming overall responsibility. This change is aligned with the changes to the Executive Board which are to take place as of 31 December 2009, which VION has announced before. As of 1 July 2009, Peter Beckers will take over as Chairman of the Board of VION Food Nederland from Bas Alblas who has decided to continue his career outside VION.

VION had already announced that as of 31 December 2009 Uwe Tillmann will become CEO and Chairman of the board, Ton Vernaus will become CFO and Dirk Kloosterboer will become Vice-Chairman and COO of VION Ingredients. VION will take another step in the control of the food activities by handing this over to the COOs Ton Christiaanse and Peter Beckers. Ton Christiaanse will remain responsible for VION Food UK and Peter Beckers will be made responsible for VION Food Netherlands, Germany and International.

Director Operations Food Maarten Kusters will join VION Food Netherlands board to support Peter Beckers in his responsibility for the Business Unit Fresh Meat Netherlands.

These changes anchor the responsibilities for Food and Ingredients' core activities in the new composition of the Executive Board. This new control model guarantees an efficient and effective translation of VION's strategic ambitions into its business activities.
